On January 8th, two vehicles collided on the Calion River Bridge on U.S. Highway 167 in Calion, Arkansas.
The collision killed two men: Eric White of West Monroe and William Bradley of Hampton.
According to Arkansas State Police, this was a head-on collision. White, 44, was headed north on US-167, driving his 2014 Chevrolet Express. Bradley, only 21, was headed south in his 2018 GMC Sierra. Bradley crossed the centerline of the two-lane bridge road, impacting with White’s vehicle.
According to police, the conditions on the bridge were dry at the time of the accident. Also called the Ouachita River Bridge, this section of bridge is currently under construction. There is no indication that the construction was a factor in the accident. This is the 12th fatal wreck in Union County in 2021.
